Deiratonotus cristatum (De Man, 1895) = Paracleistostoma cristatum Far East / North
Pacific
Range. Along the coast of Japan off Honshu, Shikoku and Kyushu Islands and along the coast
of Korea, Vietnam, China north to Yellow Sea (Starobogatov, 1972). The crab was found in
the esthuary of the Srednyaya River in Sakhalin Island [Labai, 2004, p. 72]. Japan, “the
northern limit of its distribution is Mutsu Bay or Jusan-gata, Aomori Prefecture.” [Sakai,
1976, p. 619].
In Sakhalin - on clay-sandy intertidal (density 36 ind / sq. m), on sand-gravel intertidal
(density 6 ind / sq. m). [Labai, 2004, p. 75].
Size of carapace. 15,3 x 10,7 mm (width x length). [Labai, 2004, p. 75].
