Range. Off Hokkaido Island, Peter the Great Gulf, off southwest and south parts of Sakhalin
and off Shikotan Island. [Vassilenko, 1990, p. 80]. Japan (“Mutsu Bay and the coast of Hidaka
Province, Hokkaido”). [Sakai, 1976, p. 579].
Commensal of bivalves: Crenomytilus grayanus, Modiolus difficilis, more rare in Crassostrea
gigas. [Vassilenko, 1990, p. 80]. “Host. Volsella modiolus and Crenomytilus grayanus.”

Size of carapace. Up to 18 x 20 mm (length x width), female; up to 11 x 11 mm (length x
