Sakaina yokoyai (Glassell, 1933) = Parapinnixa affinis Yokoya, 1928 Far East / North Pacific
Range. Off north coast of Honshu (Mutsu Bay), Peter the Great Gulf (Posyet Bay), off pacific
coast of Iturup Island, off coast of southern Sakhalin (Aniva Bay). [Vassilenko, 1990, p. 84].
Primorye and California. (Parapinnixa affinis). [Vinogradov, 1950, p. 240]. “This species was
recorded from Mutsu Bay early in 1928 by Yokoya; no second specimen of this species has so far
been obtained. (...) Known only from Mutsu Bay.” (Sakaina yokoyai). [Sakai, 1976, p. 579].
Upper sublittoral species, at a depth of 2 to 35 m, in druses of Crenomytilus grayanus and
Modiolus difficilis, rocky and muddy bottoms. [Vassilenko, 1990, p. 84].
Size of carapace. Up to 8 x 13,5 mm (length x width), female; up to 8,5 x 12,2 mm (length x
width), male. [Vassilenko, 1990, p. 84]. 6,3 x 10,1 mm (length x width), female. [Sakai, 1976, p.
580].
