Hemigrapsus longitarsis (Miers, 1879) Far East / North Pacific
Range. From Peter the Great Gulf (Sea of Japan) to Shandong Peninsula and from Sangar
Strait to Nagasaki, at depth of 3 to 16 m. [Vinogradov, 1950, p. 241]. “Japan, from Oshoro
Bay, Hokkaido to Nagasaki; also ranges as far as Korea and North China.” [Sakai, 1976, p.
652].
“Inhabits the weedy, sandy-mud bottoms, from littoral to 10 to 20 metres deep.” [Sakai, 1976,
p. 651].
Size of carapace. 15,0 x 14,2 mm (width x length), female. [Sakai, 1976, p. 651].
