Range. From Strait of Tartary to Hong Kong (?) and from Aniva Bay to Formosa (= Taiwan),
below low tide line. [Vinogradov, 1950, p. 241]. From Taiwan to Sea of Japan, off South
Kuril Islans, in Aniva Bay. [Zhirmunskiy, 1976, p. 56]. Japan, also ranges to Korea, China,
Formosa and Hawaii. [Sakai, 1976, p. 650].
“Habitat. Same as that of H. sanguineus.” [Sakai, 1976, p. 650].
Size of carapace. 34,5 x 30,6 mm (width x length), male. [Sakai, 1976, p. 650].
