This web-site deals with Crustacea:
Decapoda: Brachyura and crab-like
Anomura.
Introduction
The crab fauna of Russia is not very rich,
compared with tropical countries - just
76 species. Nevertheless it seems to me
interesting to show full list of species in this
web site. Almost all of the species are
illustrated. In addition to the pictures there
ara some data on distribution, habitat and
size of the species. The information and the
illustrations were taken from different
sources. In each case I placed the authorship
and source under the image or after the text.

I would like to gratitude all the persons whose work was used in this web site.
Please pay attention to the reference section of the site. There are a little known publications of
russian authers there. In some cases I translated the titles to English. Information on distribution
and habitat from russian sources also translated from Russian by myself.
The species names in the list was checked with the well-known publication Systema
Brachyurorum (Ng P.K.L. & Guinot D. & Davie P.J.F. 2008), and also with Annotated
checklist of anomuran decapod crustaceans of the world (McLaughlin P.A. & Komai T. &
Lemaitre R. & Rahayu D.L. 2010; Osawa M. & McLaughlin P.A. 2010). The order of families in
this website was taken from these sources too.
